Inspiring the next generation of ocean stewards! Middle and high school students from around the world are invited to compete in the 2015 Ocean Awareness Student Contest. The theme “Our Oceans, Our Plastic” allows you to explore and interpret the connections among the ocean, plastic pollution, society, and you. This is an interdisciplinary contest that weaves together ocean awareness, creativity, and advocacy. Advocacy means taking a stand for something you believe in. We are now offering two types of day camps for children ages 9 to 12: a week-long River Kids day camp for $240 per child a Crew for Day camp for $30 per child The week-long day River Kids camp, will be held August 3rd through 7th from 9 AM to 3 PM. Meet the staff and crew while enjoying complimentary refreshments and learn about the upcoming season. The Piscataqua Cafe is located at 33 Cape Road in New Castle, NH. Parking is limited! For a change of pace, the gundalow Piscataqua will be at the River House Restaurant dock this Saturday night to Sunday, with 2 sails scheduled from the River House on Sunday, June 29. The first sail will be a short 1 hour and 15 minute sail upriver at 12PM , while the second sail will be a 3-hour upriver sail at 2PM. These sails take you under two Portsmouth bridges passing the towns of Portsmouth, Kittery, Newington and Eliot. Like the Gundalow’s Coastal Issues program, the Portsmouth Science Cafe provides an opportunity for the public to learn about contemporary science issues from leading experts in a relaxed setting at the Portsmouth Brewery.
