It is well documented that our physical earth is changing on a daily basis and without taking the appropriate steps, some of our most beloved traditions will be drastically different in the coming years. As an organization rooted in environmental conservation, our mission is anchored in the preservation of the Great Bay estuary and the seven rivers that make up the Great Bay Watershed. Over the past several years, a group of partners has come together to build a vision towards conservation and restoration of the watershed entitled Great Bay 2030. Through this collaboration, there are five focus areas that have been established:

1. Foster a Culture of Stewardship
2. Restore Critical Habitat
3. Enhance Water Quality and Quantity
4. Adapt to Climate Change
5. Protect Priority Lands

A key component to facilitating completion of these focal areas is first-hand experience on the waterways for key decision makers and stakeholders within the affected areas. While small passenger boats can bring limited numbers, the Piscataqua provides the opportunity to host up to 46 guests per sail – increasing the impact from 40-50 individuals participating to over 200. This allows for a diverse mix of decision makers, stakeholders, conservationists, and scientists to all view both the challenges and potential opportunities together – and provides a platform for needs-based assessments happening in real time.
