Through this decommissioning process, the oil well is capped and the upper 85 feet of the platform is either towed, toppled in place, or removed. For example, Joey is a founding Trustee and served as The Gundalow Company’s Chairman from 2002-2009. Currently he serves on the Development Committee and as a ‘sometime’ crew member aboard the Piscataqua gundalow.

GUNDALOW ROLES Paula is a deckhand and assists with office tasks. She also volunteers at the Round Island Regatta. Michael too is a deckhand. An experienced photographer, he captures activities aboard Piscataqua during school and public sails. Many of his photos can be seen at the Gundalow website and in publicity brochures. He also works at the Round Island Regatta. One of his favorite tasks during summer is River Rats day camp, showing campers how to row and be safe in Wherries.
